THE ART: KATE TALBOT
ALWAYS A TONIC
As life under lockdown drifts into another week with no end in sight, it becomes harder to keep optimistic. I was up doing the high kicks with Joe Wicks and promising to keep strictly to the routine at the beginning but like all resolutions designed to improve my health and sanity, they disappeared faster than a box of Quality Street at Christmas!
And that’s the problem, just like Christmas when families come together and normal routine is abandoned, it doesn’t take long before we all start to just morph into the sofa.
My appetite has been rampaging from the moment we were told to stay indoors. I’m trying to be sensible but my willpower is lying on the floor kicking and screaming until I give it a biscuit! In an effort to stay entertained, I decided to re-work a series of hand stitched vintage comic images using photoshop. All these images looked like they might easily be scenes under lockdown so I cut and paste the texts to suit.I may not be able to control my appetite or keep the exercise up to an acceptable standard but I can still have a laugh and that’s always a tonic.
“I CAN STILL HAVE A LAUGH AND THAT’S ALWAYS A TONIC.
